MIT Prof Builds City Bots with Grok: AI Agents Co-Create SimCity
ProfBuehlerMIT · x · 2026-08-26
MIT Prof Markus Buehler used Grok Bot to transform research-grade swarm code into a playable game, City Bots. This AI-native SimCity features citizens driven by AI agents, allowing humans to collaborate, direct civilizations, and generate worlds on the fly. The project demonstrates the separation of cognition and consequences, and a recursive layer where an agentic system built a world inhabited by other AI agents. It previews a forthcoming paper on world-building with swarms.
