Dev builds Conduit: a browser-control extension for any agent, not just Claude
PumpkinNarrow6339 · reddit · 2026-08-26
The poster liked Claude's official Chrome extension but found it locked to one vendor — they bounce between Cursor, local models, and self-wired agents, and couldn't find anything that lets any agent control the browser. So they built Conduit.
Same core idea as Claude's extension — the agent actually uses the page instead of copy-paste — but model-agnostic, so Cursor, local models, or custom agents can all plug in. They're asking the community whether this is a real need and what alternatives others use.
