Claude Code bug: Fabricated user messages cause app crash
baenahmsik · ghdev · 2026-08-26
A user reports a severe bug in Claude Code Desktop where fabricated 'user' role messages are appended to assistant responses. This escalates from single lines to continuous output, making the app unusable and killing local processes like ffmpeg renders. The issue has recurred since late August 2026 without generating crash logs.
