Tune AMD V620 power/clock on Windows without VBIOS flashing
Brave_Load7620 · reddit · 2026-08-26
A method to adjust power, voltage, and clocks for AMD V620 GPUs on Windows without flashing the VBIOS.
Mechanism: Leverages the Soft PowerPlay Table override in the registry, which the AMD driver checks at load time instead of the vBIOS.
Tool: Uses upp (Uplift PowerPlay), an open-source CLI, to parse the PowerPlay table and export a modified .reg file.
Steps:
- Identify the correct GPU instance ID in the registry.
- Use upp to generate a .reg file with desired power, frequency, and voltage limits.
- Merge the registry file and toggle the GPU driver in Device Manager to apply changes.
Safety: The change is purely registry-based and reversible by deleting the key, posing no risk of bricking.
