We overestimate AI pathogens and underestimate AI-designed party drugs

The argument: public attention on AI-generated pathogens is overblown, while designer drugs are the underestimated risk. As soon as AI can help design ultrapotent, low-side-effect, low-cost recreational drugs, demand will almost certainly make that a reality at scale.
