Data centers barely use water in stressed areas—and pay the most tax per drop

Andy Masley pushes back on the data-center water panic: in nearly every water-stressed area where they're built, data centers do not account for a meaningful share of water use, and they contribute more tax revenue per unit of water than any other water-consuming industry. Compared to most ways water is used in stressed regions—especially agriculture—data centers are arguably an ideal fit.
