Funded with $30M, AI Ad Startup Icon Pivots Back to Human Creators Due to Low Conversion
iamfakhrealam · x · 2026-08-26
Icon, an AI ad startup backed by $30M, announced a pivot away from purely AI-generated video ads back to human creators. The founder noted that AI-generated ads suffer from low conversion rates because they are easily identified as fake by users, who comment "this is AI" and refrain from purchasing. Icon's new model charges $1,000 to produce six fully human-made ads by handling creator sourcing, shipping, scripting, and editing, with a full-refund guarantee.
