Adaptyv Bio announced a $40M Series A to build an automated wet lab for agentic biology.
Previously they worked with Anthropic on a full loop: Claude designed proteins, sent them to the automated wet lab, and got real experimental data back for iteration. The team argues AI can only move as fast as experiments behind it, so high-throughput "biological gigafactory" infrastructure is needed.
Over the past year lab throughput grew over 5x, with 100+ customers including bio-AI labs like Chai Discovery and Boltz Bio, and pharmas like Roche and Novo Nordisk.
