Chrome's AI Mode goes live in the UK: ask questions with images and tabs from the address bar
gaganghotra_ · x · 2026-08-26
Google announced AI Mode in Chrome is now live in the UK on desktop and mobile. Tapping the new plus menu in the address bar or New Tab page lets users add context — images, recent tabs — and ask questions; AI Mode splits queries into subtopics and searches them simultaneously, returning AI answers with follow-ups and web links. The feature is gradually rolling out outside the US and to non-English languages, and isn't available to everyone yet. Enabling Web & App Activity is needed to resume past searches.
