IBM Granite 4.2 lands on Ollama: open 3B/8B/30B models built for enterprise agents

IBM has released Granite 4.2, a family of open models in 3B, 8B and 30B parameter sizes, now available on Ollama. The models are free to use and licensed for both research and commercial purposes.
Purpose-built for enterprise agentic AI, Granite 4.2 adds native reasoning capabilities — planning, reasoning, self-correction and reliable tool use — to automate complex enterprise workflows. Data curation and training were designed for enterprise customization, incorporating governance, risk and compliance (GRC) evaluations alongside IBM's standard data clearance and document quality reviews.
