China Pioneers 'Know Your Agent' Rules for AI Payments

China's state-backed payment association, under the guidance of the People's Bank of China, has issued the country's first industry guidelines for AI agent-driven payments. The initiative introduces a 'know your agent' mechanism to mitigate risks such as unauthorized transactions as AI agents increasingly handle everyday financial tasks like booking flights and ordering food.
