OpenAI Reveals Jalapeño Benchmarks: Beats Blackwell in Efficiency

OpenAI has published performance metrics for its in-house chip, Jalapeño. In tests vs. Nvidia (Blackwell), OpenAI claims Jalapeño led in two categories:
- AI work handled per unit of power (Energy efficiency)
- Speed at returning responses (Latency)
Richard Ho, OpenAI's head of hardware, discussed the chip on Bloomberg Tech.
