OpenAI caught a Russian group using ChatGPT to run a fake think tank: a fabricated institute with fake experts, a fake address in Israel, and a made-up ranking system to make Russia look good and the West bad. The op barely reached anyone. The key point: such operations once needed a big team hand-writing content for months; now a few people plus ChatGPT suffice. They were caught only because their ChatGPT-generated posts were sloppy — non-native English speakers trying to hide their identity. The fake website itself was clean, and the next group can simply avoid these mistakes.
