Fake Microsoft SysScan Scam: Rigged Scores Force AV Uninstallation
TechNadu · x · 2026-08-25
Attackers built 11 fake Microsoft system scan sites to execute a precise social engineering attack.
Attack Flow:
- Rigged Scores: The code is hardcoded so users can never pass the scan (scores limited to 13–30/100).
- Induced Action: Claims the system is at risk, tricking victims into uninstalling existing antivirus software.
- Data Theft: Demands banking info and remote access, with all stolen data sent directly to a Telegram bot.
