Pew: One in Ten Webpages Shows Signs of AI Authorship, Over a Third Post-ChatGPT
shashib · x · 2026-08-25
Pew Research quantified what many suspected: roughly one in ten webpages now shows signs of AI authorship. On .com sites, where most marketing lives, it's about double that; among pages created after ChatGPT launched, more than one in three show AI involvement.
The author argues the question is no longer "are we using it?" but "is a human still in the loop?" Spell check and Grammarly never got brands cancelled, but publishing drafts full of AI tells ("delve", em-dash overuse) might. AI works best as editor, grammar checker, and a tool to turn rough thoughts into coherent writing.
