FDA Authorizes First Standalone Robotic Blood Draw Device Aletta

The FDA has authorized Aletta, the first standalone robotic device that can draw blood without hands-on operator intervention. Designed for adult outpatient settings, it must operate under phlebotomist supervision, with one person able to oversee up to three devices to address the U.S. phlebotomist shortage. Authorization is based on clinical data demonstrating safety and efficiency.
