Rumor: NVIDIA Rubin Ultra HBM downgraded to 192GB
AccBalanced · x · 2026-08-25
Hardware analysts report that NVIDIA's upcoming Rubin Ultra GPU has suffered a massive HBM downgrade, dropping from the originally previewed 1TB to just 192GB of HBM4 (8-hi). This is even lower than the standard Rubin's 288GB. The cuts are attributed to scrapping the 4-die design, reducing stack height from 16-hi to 8-hi, and using lower-capacity HBM4 dies instead of HBM4E.
