wikiHow Sues OpenAI Over Scraping 11,000+ Articles to Train GPT Models

Reuters reports wikiHow has sued OpenAI, alleging it scraped more than 11,000 articles without permission to train GPT models, infringing at least 1,200 registered copyrights, with models able to reproduce wikiHow text.
Notably, the dispute goes beyond training: wikiHow argues ChatGPT answers can substitute for the how-to pages that supplied the material, directly threatening its business. OpenAI reportedly denies the claims.
