Satire: author writes book on AI unreliability with AI, book proves his point

A satirical piece: bestselling author Marcus Vale had an AI chatbot generate his entire 280-page book arguing AI can never replace human judgment — in one weekend. The manuscript contained fabricated anecdotes, a fake Orwell quote, a claim that da Vinci invented neural networks, and a study of 40,000 nonexistent participants. Vale noticed none of it because he'd also asked the AI to fact-check itself.

Critics noted the book "successfully proves AI is unreliable, just not in the way the author intended." After finally reading his own work, Vale admitted it was "repetitive, inaccurate and almost completely empty" — and thus possibly the strongest evidence for his thesis.
