Google Ships Embeddable Preferred Sources Button, Distinct from Follow

Google has launched the embeddable "Preferred Sources" button. While Google's announcement mixed it with the Discover Follow button, they operate on entirely separate plumbing systems:
- Preferred Sources: A new feature that is the only lever affecting Top Stories, AI Overviews, and AI Mode. It is now embeddable on any site worldwide without an audience threshold.
- Discover Follow: Has multiple entry points, including the publisher's profile page, the menu on any Discover card, and a third unmentioned entry.
All "Follow" actions converge on a single page in your Google account, whereas Preferred Sources do not. Distinguishing between these two systems is crucial for optimizing content visibility in Google's ecosystem.
