Apodex 1.1 mini: open 35B local model, harness swap adds up to 10 points
SimonShaoleiDu · x · 2026-08-25
Apodex released Apodex 1.1 mini: 35B parameters, open weights, built to run locally, aimed at professional work, finance, and scientific research. The headline data is a same-weights, different-harness comparison:
- With Agent Team: FrontierFinance 50.2 / FrontierScience-Research 51.7 / APEX-Agent 27.7
- With plain ReAct: 40.0 / 45.0 / 24.2
That's a 5-10 point gap, and the author's point: the difference is the harness, not the weights. The FrontierAgent framework is open-sourced alongside, with weights on GitHub and Hugging Face.
