When Indeed laid off the author's wife at 7 months pregnant, he channelled his anger into building a competitor with Claude Code. Eight months later: 4,300+ users, 91 paying ($1k MRR), the first three people hired through the platform (Palantir, Accenture, and a videographer), and a feature in recruiting trade publication ERE.
Claude wrote most of it — 1,100+ PRs merged in the first months; the author, non-technical, has since written 200+ himself. The system ingests 15,000 job listings daily from employer career pages, classifies and enriches them, and embeds them for semantic match with email triggers. An upcoming Autopilot has application agents read the employer's actual ATS pages (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever and the long tail) and fill forms — no Chrome extension. His wife now works at Google, and he still intends to put Indeed out of business.
