Google launches Developer Knowledge API/MCP spanning 19 doc sets, now in gcloud CLI
rseroter · x · 2026-08-24
Google's Richard Seroter announced the Developer Knowledge API/MCP: a single endpoint pulling the latest content from 19 Google doc sets—Gemini, Android, Cloud, Chrome, Flutter and more—so developers no longer have to hunt across docs for an answer.
It's also integrated into the Google Cloud CLI via gcloud alpha developer-knowledge, with two commands: documents (explore/search docs) and answer-query (answer a natural-language query using grounded generation). The feature is in alpha, may change without notice, and the API is behind an invitation-only early-access allowlist.
