Mathematicians have low costs for using AI to solve problems, not relying on big labs

Refuting the idea that lab papers outperform external researchers 6:1 in prompting, the author argues that mathematicians try to solve problems they are interested in. Since API costs are much lower than hiring a PhD, the premise that external resources prevent one-shot solutions is flawed.
