Shield AI's Hivemind Successfully Demonstrates Autonomous Satellite Operations in Orbit

Shield AI, in partnership with Sedaro and NOVI Space, has successfully demonstrated autonomous satellite operations using its Hivemind AI pilot onboard a NOVI satellite in low Earth orbit. This marks Hivemind's first orbital flight and its highest-altitude, longest-duration deployment. Hivemind performed multi-objective optimization, balancing imaging tasking, spacecraft health, battery state of charge, and pointing across a constellation. The demo also proved Hivemind can operate on existing satellites not originally designed for autonomy.
