Bain & Company released a CEO guide analyzing the pitfalls of enterprise AI transformation, noting that about 85% of companies are executing poorly. The report lists five symptoms of "fake progress," such as counting pilots as depth, adding AI buttons to old processes, and mistaking vendor capabilities for internal ones. The real differentiator is accumulating "Proprietary Intelligence": proprietary data, encoded workflows (Agents), and a closed-loop learning architecture.
