Research shows that agents trained in cheap surrogate turbulent channel flows were deployed zero-shot onto a 3-D NACA0012 wing at Re=200,000, cutting local skin-friction drag by 38%. This transfer reduced exploration cost by four orders of magnitude compared to direct optimization.
