Walgit: An S3-only Rust Implementation of Git
andersonbcdefg · x · 2026-08-24
A developer open-sourced Walgit, a single Rust binary Git implementation inspired by Cursor's blog post. It maps Git objects directly to S3-compatible object stores using WAL and CAS primitives, requiring no additional database. The tool supports bundle-uri for fast large repo downloads and leverages S3's new Compare-And-Swap support for reliability and cost efficiency.
