OpenAI CEO Sam Altman states he no longer believes in universal basic income (UBI) as much as he once did, favoring "collective ownership" models instead.
Having funded a $14M UBI study which showed cash transfers didn't hurt work ethic, Altman now argues UBI is not what is really needed for the next phase of change driven by AI technology.
