Delta Air Lines uses AI for personalized pricing to boost profits by 50%

Delta's CEO revealed that an AI system called Fetcherr generates unique prices for each shopping request in real time, projecting a 50% profit boost. Critics argue this AI analyzes shopping behavior to determine the maximum price a user will pay rather than improving service. Although Delta told Congress last year it wasn't using personal data for individualized pricing, its investor presentation described building offers for "you, the individual." Notably, airlines are currently exempt from FTC pricing oversight.
