Anthropic hits price elasticity limit: Fable is just 11% of enterprise sales
zainhas · x · 2026-08-24
Zain Hasan observes that Anthropic appears to have found a limit to the price elasticity of intelligence for frontier models:
- Low Sales Share: Fable accounts for only 11% of Anthropic's enterprise sales.
- Version Preference: Usage of Opus 4.8 is higher than that of Opus 5.
This suggests user sensitivity to higher pricing for "intelligence" and that users do not automatically default to the newest or most expensive versions.
