ChatGPT Is the Most-Read 'Author' in History, ~200x Any Human Writer
TuhinChakr · x · 2026-08-24
James Yu's observation: if you view ChatGPT as a writer with a distinct voice, it would be the most read author in history by a long shot — roughly 200x more than any human author in a given year. That's why we're so attuned to its tics: no single author's style has ever been this saturated across society. Tuhin Chakrabarty replies that the analogy is funny but notes we never voluntarily signed up for its officious voice — we're just subjected to it.
