Copilot Threads Live in Cloud with Local Affinity for Seamless UX
MParakhin · x · 2026-08-24
Mikhail Parakhin shared the ideal UX philosophy for Copilot:
- Cloud State: Thread state persists in the cloud, accessible from any device without relying on local .codex folders.
- Thread Affinity: Distinguishes between local machine, cloud, and pure chat modes using color-coding or sigils.
- Resilience: If local resources are unavailable, the sigil turns red, but users can continue issuing instructions via the cloud without interruption.
