AliExpress caught running silent audio fingerprinting that hijacks Bluetooth headphones
xiaohu · x · 2026-08-23
Users noticed opening the AliExpress homepage interrupts phone music even when muted. Investigation revealed the page runs two AudioContexts generating an inaudible waveform; tiny hardware/driver differences in processing it form an "audio fingerprint" used to track devices after cookies are cleared. The silent audio keeps the OS audio channel busy, hijacking multipoint Bluetooth headphones.
