MIT Professor Demonstrates AI Agents Solving Engineering Problems and Manufacturing Physical Objects End-to-End

MIT Professor Markus Buehler shared an experiment where he created a team of AI agents to solve a complex engineering problem end-to-end. Starting from four design images, the agents inferred transferable structural principles, synthesized an executable interactive physics simulator, ran experiments, optimized designs, and finally manufactured the best physical designs. The entire loop worked remarkably well, and communication with the agents was even possible via Apple Watch.
