DeepMind alumni startup's small agent outperforms OpenAI in science

Inherent, a London AI lab founded by DeepMind alumni, claims its new AI agent Faraday outperformed larger models from Anthropic and OpenAI at replicating scientific research. Based on a 27B parameter Qwen 3.6 model, Faraday independently reproduced findings from published papers without being given the answers in advance.
