OpenAI now supports strengthening California's AI safety bill

OpenAI is calling for California to add more safeguards to its AI safety bill, SB 53. The company suggested amendments including requiring monitoring of frontier models during training for serious incidents and strengthening cybersecurity protections throughout the model development lifecycle. This marks a shift as OpenAI previously opposed the bill.
