Data from OpenRouter shows agentic token consumption has reached 7.3T tokens/day, about 5x that of human users and up 14x since February. Even with growth slowing to 3x/year, usage could hit 34T tokens/day by end of 2027. This signals that compute, bandwidth, and payments are increasingly being consumed by machines at a scale humans cannot match.
