Ex-OpenAI Researcher Launches AVERI to Standardize Frontier AI Auditing
dhadfieldmenell · x · 2026-08-23
Miles Brundage announced the official launch of AVERI, a non-profit think tank focused on making third-party auditing of frontier AI effective and universal. Brundage highlighted that the AI industry's safety-to-capability investment ratio is significantly lower than that of other sectors. He noted that even treating AI as a 'normal' technology, the current level of scrutiny is totally insane. AVERI aims to verify safety claims and evaluate systems against standards based on deep, secure access.
