Satirical AI verification regime: 200 stray cats per datacenter
peterwildeford · x · 2026-08-23
Addressing the challenge of US-China AI verification, Peter Wildeford proposed a satirical solution:
The Proposal: Mandate that every frontier datacenter house 200 stray cats.
The Mechanism:
- Any training run above the compute threshold generates enough heat to attract the cats.
- The cats will sit on the servers, physically shutting them down.
Follow-up: A user joked that since verifying inside Chinese datacenters is hard, these cats could conduct unannounced on-site inspections for free.
