AI team solves complex engineering problems from pixels to physical manufacturing
ProfBuehlerMIT · x · 2026-08-23
This project demonstrates a workflow using a team of AI agents to solve complex engineering problems end-to-end.
- Image to Principle: Inferring transferable structural principles from four design images.
- Simulation & Optimization: Synthesizing an executable interactive physics simulator, running experiments, reasoning over results, and optimizing the design.
- Physical Manufacturing: Fabricating the best designs into real-world objects.
The loop worked remarkably well, with communication enabled via Apple Watch, showcasing the potential of multi-agent collaboration in physical tasks.
