Agentmetry Monitors MCP Changes to Prevent Rug Pulls
blitzcrieg11 · reddit · 2026-08-23
The author released Agentmetry, an open-source local endpoint sensor for AI coding agents (Cursor, Claude Code) to detect MCP "rug pulls".
Core Features:
- Schema Fingerprinting: Compares tools/list schema digests against config digests. Triggers a rug-pull signal if the schema changes without a config change.
- Coverage Attestation: Heartbeat checks actual hook coverage on IDE surfaces, distinguishing "installed" from "active".
The tool uses local JSONL storage, supports Splunk/Elastic forwarders, and achieved 0 FP/0 miss on 50 recorded sessions.
