Large software cos must treat inference as table stakes for the AI era

A follow-up opinion arguing that while the revenue line from inference might have weak margins initially, getting into the actual "game" for the intelligence flowing through their ecosystem is absolute table stakes right now. Currently, these companies sit entirely outside the flow of intelligence within their own ecosystems.
