GitHub project trmnl-kobo provides a guide and implementation to turn a Kobo e-reader into a TRMNL client.

How it works:

• Adds a menu entry to launch the TRMNL app on the Kobo.
• The app periodically fetches and renders a dashboard screen.
• Refresh rate is server-controlled; the device sleeps between requests to save power.
• The charging LED lights up during wake-up to indicate data fetching.

Compatibility:

Reported working on Kobo Mini, Clara HD, Clara 2E, Aura Second Edition, Aura ONE, Libra 2, Libra 2 Color, and Kobo Touch.
