Former teacher releases full free AI literacy curriculum for complete beginners

Having spent six months teaching teams at Stanford, Penn, Northwestern and beyond how to use AI responsibly, the author is now releasing his entire curriculum free, forever, for everyone as the Open Augments AI Academy.

Aimed at ordinary people lost in AI hype (his north-star audience: his parents), the course requires no math or background. Lesson one starts with a core idea most people miss: modern AI is less a hyper-intelligent database and more autocomplete with a fancy hat on — understanding this makes hallucinations, confident errors, and AI's expanding capabilities suddenly click. Later lessons cover context engineering, harness engineering, and agents, paired with hands-on practice in the interactive Context Gym.

A 10-minute overview and 16-minute first lesson are live, with weekly releases. The entire site and even the video editing pipeline were built with Claude Code, and the author plans to open-source that workflow in Level 2.
