Instant joins OpenAI, sets 2027 shutdown for cloud service

Development platform Instant announced its team is joining OpenAI. Noting a shift towards agent-based usage, the team aims to integrate intelligence at scale.
User Impact:
- New signups are closed immediately.
- Existing cloud users must migrate within 12 months.
- Full cloud shutdown is scheduled for August 31, 2027, with data backups available until August 31, 2028.
Instant remains fully open source, and a self-hosting migration guide has been provided.
