New clues about the identity of the mysterious Ox Alpha model: a DeepMind researcher posted on X strongly hinting it is not a Chinese model, but likely Gemini 3.5 Pro or Gemini 4 Pro.
On the DeepSWE coding benchmark, Ox Alpha reportedly trounced competitors:
- GPT-5.6 Sol: 52%
- Claude Fable: 65%
- Ox Alpha: 80%+ (near-miss on the "x" category, so actually over 80%)
