Tesla's Robotaxi ditches the steering wheel to cut weight and operating costs

Robert Scoble notes that removing the steering wheel saved significant weight on Tesla's Robotaxi. He says marketers at all robotaxi companies know price is the number one decision point for riders, and no one will match Tesla's price even with heavy advertising. Engineers told him they argued over grams — lower weight means lower operating cost. He calls this an important day in transportation history.
