Anthropic Hires Google TPU Founder for Custom Silicon Push

Anthropic has reportedly hired Google TPU founder Amir Salek as Head of Compute and previously recruited OpenAI chip project veteran Clive Chan. This move signals the formal launch of Anthropic's Custom Silicon division to reduce inference costs and reduce reliance on NVIDIA. Additionally, Anthropic placed a $250M pre-order with UK startup Fractile and is aggressively securing data center and power resources.
