Nvidia Takes Stake in Data Center Developer to Secure Land and Power
rohanpaul_ai · x · 2026-08-22
Nvidia is partnering with data center developer Cloverleaf, taking a minority stake to secure land and utility power for future data centers. Cloverleaf converts land with electricity access into buildable sites and will use Nvidia's DSX platform to plan power, cooling, networking, and facility design early in the process.
By intervening before construction, Nvidia ensures infrastructure is optimized for its hardware and software stack, creating switching friction for competitors. Cloverleaf has sold over 7 GW of powered land with a pipeline exceeding 10 GW. This follows Nvidia's $1.5B SB Energy investment and a $3B Lancium deal, confirming its strategy to address land, power, and shell as deployment constraints.
